I am located in a private clinic in the West End of Darlington, North East England. Upon booking you will be sent instructions on how to find me. 

What brands do you use in clinic?

I treat all skins with Dermaviduals, which uses the methodology of Corneotherapy. I also stock their products for homecare which are available to purchase too. I use a Dermalux LED for in clinic LED treatments. And stock a range of supplement brands to help internally with skin conditions. I’m able to create prescriptive and bespoke serums, masks and moisturisers to ensure your skin is receiving exactly what it needs. The bespoke nature of the blending means that we can tweak your products along the journey as and when we need to, for example during different periods of your life or the change in seasons/climate. 

All Dermaviduals products are free from fragrances, preservatives, emulsifiers, colours, mineral oil, silicones and amines making it fabulous to use for all skin conditions and concerns.

What is Corneotherapy?

Corneotherapy is a skin treatment methodology which focuses on repairing and strengthening the skin barrier. Your skin is made up of layers, each of which performs important functions in protecting your body. The outermost layer, called the stratum corneum, is often described as a brick wall. It consists of tough skin cells called corneocytes that are bound together by mortar-like lipids. This is your skin barrier. The focus is on long-term skin health, creating the strongest barrier defence system and improving cell to cell communication. Using the principles of Corneotherapy to treat skin can also be applied not just for the correction of skin conditions listed below, but for the supportive prevention of skin problems; the prevention of premature skin ageing is an inherent outcome of this approach. 

What skin conditions do you treat?

I treat a range of skin conditions and concerns. The primary conditions I see are acne, eczema, dermatitis, rosacea, pigmentation and premature ageing. Dermaviduals allows me to create bespoke products and treatments for all skin types, conditions and concerns! No two skins are the same, so using an individualised approach is an absolute must. But people don’t only come to me with skin concerns or conditions: many of my clients are simply committed to achieving healthy, glowing and happy skin. 

How are your treatments different from other local skin clinics?

I endeavour to take you on a journey throughout your facials. I use only Dermaviduals skincare range to gently cleanse, exfoliate, nourish and restore your skin with a range of active ingredients and bespoke masks. All facials are customised based on what your skin requires on the day. This customisable approach sets Lucy Connelly Skin apart from a regular beauty salon that will follow generic steps for each facial. My approach is to repair and nurture your skin and in doing so I don’t use anything harsh or abrasive to achieve results. There is no downtime to our facials and you will leave with glowy skin. I designed the private clinic space with the purpose of client’s experiencing pure relaxation. The space has a cosy, english country style feel with warm neutral tones. The aim is for you to leave completely relaxed and feeling rejuvenated.

Do I have to have a consultation if I am a new client?

Yes, a consultation allows me to take a deep dive into all aspects that could be affecting your skin. Not only will we discuss the skincare products you are using and have tried in the past, but we will discuss medical and family history, lifestyle, diet and your general health. In extensively gathering information, I am then able to create a treatment and homecare plan to help you address your skin concerns, and achieve your skin goals with your budget in mind. Do you have to purchase homecare to get the best results alongside treatments?

To reap the best results I advise that you use Dermaviduals homecare alongside treatments. Treatments make up approximately 30% of your skin results, with the 70% a result of what products you apply twice daily at home. Similarly to in treatment, your homecare products are customised for your skin at the current time. Each time you come back into the clinic I will be reassessing your skin, and making adjustments to your homecare product prescriptions as well as in clinic customisations.

I can create things like bespoke masks to use at home that are not only a gorgeous self-care ritual you can add to your sunday evening, but extra nourishment for your skin too. I will only ever recommend products that are suitable for your individual skin’s needs, and will start you off on a simple routine of cleanse, enzyme exfoliation, bespoke serum, moisturise and spf. Once your skin has adjusted to these new products, it gets extra fun and additional targeted products can be added to your routine to really elevate your results. 

How do I repurchase homecare products?

Once you have had a consultation (in-person or virtual) you will receive log-in details to the member’s only online shop where you can repurchase products. They can be collected in person from the clinic, or I can post out to those who aren’t local using Royal Mail. Alternatively, you can email or text me and I will process the order for you.
